Vent Stack Failures and Release Incidents¶
Vent stacks route atmospheric and emergency releases away from populated or ignition-source areas; design deficiencies, inadequate dispersion modeling, and lack of flame arrestors have led to incidents. The cases below document how vent system deficiencies contributed to the accident sequence.
